| DESCRIPTION OF THE SOLUTION | The object of the invention is a tubing segment comprising a ribbed outer plane and an inner plane with two horizontal flanges and two vertical flanges, characterised in that one horizontal flange and one vertical flange comprise on their outer surface a substantially flat area, respectively intended to accommodate a horizontal gasket sheet and a vertical gasket sheet, and in addition one horizontal flange and one vertical flange comprise interconnecting grooves which are situated along the outer edge of their external surface, intended to accommodate a horizontal longitudinal gasket and a vertical longitudinal gasket respectively, the lengths of which generally correspond to the lengths of the groove, laid on a water repellent swelling material, the maximum surface dimensions of the horizontal gasket sheet and vertical gasket sheet respectively being substantially equal to the dimensions of the external surfaces of the horizontal flange and vertical flange respectively, without the groove. |
| BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION | Increasing the tightness of the tubing lining and ensuring that this durability is maintained over the longest possible life of the excavation. The invention gets rid of the problem of leakage at the corners of the tubing and at the horizontal joints. An additional seal, which swells on contact with water, prevents water from entering the tunnel. The spatial arrangement of the additional gasket prevents water from collecting and possibly leaking at the gasket sheet interface and stops the leakage as early as possible without weakening the structure. Providing an additional seal on only one of the vertical and one of the horizontal sides of the tubing segment unexpectedly reduces leakages. Simplifying and speeding up the installation method (limiting the number of gaskets to only two of the four flanges of the tubing segment, which is important in terms of time constraints and labour efficiency). |
