KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. provides high quality services in the area of electricity distribution, responsibility for network traffic in the power distribution system and for the current and long-term safety of system operation, including operation, maintenance, repair and necessary development of the distribution grid and connections with other power systems.
KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. as the distribution system operator, applying objective and transparent principles to ensure equal treatment of the system users and taking into account the requirements of environmental protection, is responsible for, among others, the following:
- conducting network traffic in the distribution grid,
- operation, maintenance and repair of the distribution grid with a view to ensuring reliable functioning of the distribution system,
- ensuring expansion of the distribution grid in its area of operation,
- balancing the system and managing electricity flows in the distribution grid,
- purchasing of electricity to cover losses incurred in the distribution grid during distribution,
- providing network users and operators of other electricity systems with which the system is interconnected with information on the conditions for the provision of electricity distribution services and network management necessary for access to and use of the distribution grid,
- construction and operation of technical and IT infrastructure for the acquisition, transmission and management of measurement data,
- gathering, storing, processing and making available measurement data,
- developing, updating and making available to customers their standard consumption profiles,
- planning the development of the distribution grid, taking into account undertakings related to energy efficiency, electricity demand management or the development of generation capacities connected to the distribution grid,
- developing the normal operation of the distribution grid in agreement with the neighbouring power distribution system operators.
Detailed conditions for the use of the distribution grid by the system users and the conditions and manner of operation, exploitation and planning of the development of the distribution grid are specified in the relevant documents.
