The Management Board of KGHM has adopted the KGHM Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy as one of three elements supporting the core pillars of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Strategy for the years 2017-2021.
The CSR Strategy is a global strategy for KGHM as a whole, hence it does not distinguish between KGHM Polska Miedź and KGHM International.
The document is based on five pillars - strategic objectives that have been identified as crucial.
The five key pillars of the strategy are: establishing co-operation with local communities and internal stakeholders, strengthening the Group’s position as a trusted and stable business partner, maintaining the Group’s position as a responsible employer, building the image of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group as one that cares about health and the environment and improving the efficiency of internal and external communications of the KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Group.
The strategy was based on the Ten Global Compact Principles - the UN initiative dedicated to the global implementation of the CSR mission. It complies with the guidelines of the International Mining and Metals Council, and the guidelines of the World Reporting Initiative (G4) concerning reporting on sustainable development.
