KGHM produces yearly 30 thousand tonnes of crude lead, which is later refined. Lead processing takes place at the "Legnica" Smelter in Poland, in the modern Lead Production Department, operated since 2007. Refined lead is used for the production of batteries and lead oxide. KGHM invests in projects that not only increase the production of this metal, but also make it possible to manage lead-bearing materials collected on heaps. Such investments are extremely important ecologically as they reduce the impact of smelters on the environment.

Sulphuric acid is an important by-product of the smelting porcess. The annual production is 600 thousand tonnes. Sulphuric acid has a broad use in fertilizer production and in chermchal industry. It is used to produce phosphorus fertilizers, phosphorous acid, dyes, cellulose, batteries and explosives. It is solnd aminly in Europe with any surplus exported to North and South Americas. KGHM owns a sulphuric acid distribution terminal in Szczecin with a handling capacity of approx. 33 thousand tonnes of acid.

Technical copper sulphate, produced at the Legnica Copper Smelter from copper granules, is used in zinc ore flotation processes, fertiliser production and other chemicals.

KGHM produces annually around 2,200 tonnes of nickel sulphate of technical quality. This is a material for further processing. In purification processes, highly processed nickel compounds are produced, including galvanised nickel.
