DESCRIPTION OF THE SOLUTION	The design of the combined cutter mining unit to ensure the correct sequence of working contact between the mining tools and the body of coal, using mining discs as mining tools and maintaining full space inside the mining unit between its panels.
BENEFITS OF THE SOLUTION	Enabling application to a wide range of rocks , especially very compact rocks. Replacement of rock cutting with rock splitting off, thanks to the special design of the cutting discs. Splitting off is much easier and does not require as much drive unit energy as with cutting. Improving the loading of the excavated material through the use of cutting panels in the mining unit and appropriate selection of the width of the mining unit and the web. Adaptation of the mining unit to the specific conditions of the rock to be excavated can be realised by selecting the number of cutting discs and their spacing across the width of the web, which influences the screw line of the cutting panels.
