Skills, experience, determination – KGHM Zanam is 50 years old. The Legnica Mechanical Non-ferrous Metals Plant (Legmet) was established as a mechanical and servicing supply base for the constructed Copper District. The Central Servicing Workshop, i.e. the later ZANAM (and previously – the Experimental Plant) was to construct the machinery and operate them.
At the beginning of its existence, the company's primary tasks included repairing machines and mining equipment, mainly for copper ore mines in KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.'s area of operation. During the many years of activity, the company's scope of technological capabilities was significantly extended. Constant modernisation of machinery, implementation of new technologies and constant improvement of qualifications have made it possible to create conditions to undertake comprehensive activity in producing machinery and equipment for copper and non-ferrous metal mining.
In 2003, the restructured Legmet and ZANAM were merged, which gave a new impetus to the company. An important segment of repair services and industrial maintenance was added to producing machinery and equipment for mining.
Today, ZANAM is the largest company in the KGHM Group. 2700 people work for their own company, the Group and third parties. It is also one of the country's largest manufacturers of machinery and mining equipment. Mobile mining machinery, including the latest generation of blasting rigs – are some of its recent products.

The company wants to develop their flagship products – new versions of mobile mining machines. Conveyor belts are being upgraded. Works are underway on automating rock crushing equipment. KGHM ZANAM focuses on innovation, quality and customization of its products to customer needs.

On the occasion of its 50th jubilee, the Company hosted a scientific conference "Innovation as the road to success". The conference was attended by specialists from the industry and representatives of the scientific community.
